I’ve watch/listened to “Interview With Jesus” dozens of times and am overwhelmed with the impact
it has and is making in my life. Never have I come into contact with any media more
beautiful than what you have created. Thank you...thank you.
Someone shared the following testimony with me via email and I thought I would share it
with you.--Scott
A little over 4 years ago, my husband received word that his company was
closing down in the area which we lived. All of our family members lived
near and around us at the time. On March 17th, he found out that we would be
moving 1,400 miles east away from all of our family and friends, our church,
doctors, dentists, surroundings that we both were so familiar and comfortable
with.
We moved to Mississippi from Arizona within two months of this
announced closing. Our move went perfect--everything we did to prepare for
this move went perfectly. As we settled in to our new surroundings, we found
a church that we felt very at home in. But, as the days and years went by,
we found ourselves in a rut waiting for people in this area to make an effort
to become friends with us. It never happened.
We felt so alone and so spiritually down. In April of this year, I sat down to
write a poem to a friend for her birthday, and the poem ended up not being for
her, but for me.
The words and feelings were put on paper within 20 minutes. I put the poem
in my file and there it sat. We were still feeling homesick, lonesome, and
actually contemplating an early retirement for my husband so we could leave
here. In May, we got involved with a Sunday School class with more folks our
age to relate to. Ever since then, our lives have been changing, we are
beginning to enjoy our surroundings much more. I took the poem out that I
had written in April, and reread it. The last verse I had written was our
answer:
We needed to look up, reach out, and listen to our precious Lord; and again,
we feel, see, and hear the sweetness of His love He gives us everyday. We
make choices everyday of our lives, and many times we don't listen and make
the wrong choices for ourselves.
It is so easy to get caught up in worldly wisdom and think we have all the answers,
and harsh reality sets in. Lives go astray, joy cannot be found, dissention torments
your soul. The Lord brought us here to Mississippi, to have us all to Himself, to
love us, to teach us, to bring us closer to Him. We thank Him and praise Him daily for
his gentle nudges, His word, and his unconditional love.
And through it all, the meaning of family is ever so real. So when you are in your
“comfort zone” and feel that life is all it can be--it isn’t! The Lord gives life
abundantly and you learn to never take it for granted by giving your “all” to
Him. Thank you for letting me share this testimony with you.
I hope to publish more letters soon! Keep checking back...
